Clinical Practice Specialist


Sheila Nelson works as a Clinical Practice Specialists for Kaiser Permanente of Washington. In this role, she is accountable for the education and program development and implementation supporting the Care Management Department.  As a member of the Strategies and Quality Team, she collaborates with leadership to direct and facilitate clinical practice innovation and best practices to achieve cost, quality, safety and service outcomes. Sheila has an extensive clinical background in multiple areas of medical case management and managed care serving in leadership roles including Director of Utilization Management, Clinical Operations Manager, Program Manager and Senior Clinical Trainer. She is a Board-Certified Case Manager and holds a Master of Science in Nursing Degree from Western Governors’ University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Washington State University.  She has been active with the CCMC since 2008 serving as a volunteer on various committees as both participant and chair. In 2017, she was voted on to the CCMC Board of Commissioners.
