Clinical Education Consultant
Tamara Burdon is a Clinical Education Consultant responsible for training and educating healthcare professionals on McKesson InterQual products. She has over 30 years of clinical experience in various areas of nursing. Her early work in critical care has been at the forefront of her clinical background. However, her career also includes medical-surgical nursing, psychiatric nursing, home health, and case management. Ms. Burdon is a Board Certified Case Manager with a self-described passion for case management. Her previous roles as a program manager, for a case management department, allowed her to have oversight of multiple innovation models of care, with a focus on reducing ED utilization and work with complex patient populations; all featured care coordination at the center. During that time, she served as one of the project coordinators for an Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)-funded North Carolina collaborative, which researched primary care best practices with high-risk patient populations. She is also a national healthcare speaker with topics ranging from transitions of care, to wellness principles for corporations, to healthcare access for poor populations. She has also presented to INTNSA (International Nurses Society on Addictions) in Washington D.C. in 2014. Ms. Burdon is a certified Faith Health promoter and has training in lean methodology, advanced motivational interviewing and Mental Health First Aid. She currently holds a Board certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and is a member of Case Management Society of America.
