Important Symposium Update Regarding Coronavirus

The Commission has continued to monitor developments related to the respiratory illness commonly referred to as the coronavirus (COVID-19) and its potential impact on travel to, and within, the United States. Based on the information that has been available leading up to the Symposium, the decision was made by the Board’s Executive Committee to proceed with the Symposium as planned.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is monitoring the situation along with local and state authorities throughout the United States. The fact remains that there are currently no government-issued domestic travel restrictions within the United States. The CDC has assessed that for the majority of people, the immediate risk of being exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19 is thought to be low. There is not widespread circulation in most communities in the United States.

We are recommending a HANDSHAKE & HUG FREE ENVIRONMENT and encourage avoiding unnecessary physical contact when possible at the Symposium. An elbow tap, smile or wave are great alternatives when greeting someone.

We are excited to connect with our attendees in Colorado. For those who are unable to travel there is a virtual option available. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
