In the healthcare field, we are extremely susceptible to burnout, and having healthy boundaries can assist in preventing this. Many people do not set boundaries because they may not understand the purpose or are afraid that setting a boundary will have negative consequences. Ideally, this presentation will show the opposite - that having stable boundaries actually protects relationships. The purpose of this presentation is to define what a boundary is and how it can be used to protect mental well-being. We will also examine the connection between boundaries setting and confidence building, as confidence is an important aspect of self-development and autonomy. This presentation will highlight the importance of building and maintaining confidence in ourselves and our abilities. The presentation will also discuss how self-care and having a positive mindset will positively impact healthcare workers. The presentation will describe both poor and stable boundaries so the listener will be able to identify the differences. The goals of the presentation are to empower the listener to set boundaries that will work, have confidence in their decision making, and set the basis to have healthy communication and relationships, whether personal or business-related.
