Clinical Strategy and Practice Lead
Carole Gescheidle, MSOLQ, BSN, RN, is the Clinical Strategy and Practice Lead in Humana's Chief Nursing Office. Carole has responsibility for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of strategies that support career growth and development of Humana's nursing community of nearly 10,000 nurses. This encompasses programs such as specialty certification, formal mentoring, and support of further academic degree attainment. She has an additional focus on transcultural nursing, introducing coursework for managing care of LGBTQ+ seniors, and is assisting in the launch of a new Native American employee resource group at Humana. Carole has more than 35 years' experience as nurse with clinical concentration in OB/GYN, Women's and Community Health Education, and as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). At Humana, Carole's career has encompassed a variety of roles including utilization and case management, process improvement, strategic consultant and director of clinical operations. Carole has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Organizational Quality and Leadership from Marian University in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. She is a current member of the American Nurses Association, Wisconsin Nurses Association and Native Alaskan Native American Indian Nurses Association, and is enrolled as a First Generation Descendent of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin.
