Asthma is a significant burden to patients, their families, health systems and society. Many patients have inadequately controlled asthma, and it is often overlooked. Digital health interventions may potentially drive change in patient experience and impact asthma outcomes. The use of digital inhalers and smartphone apps continues to evolve and is likely to play a key role in remote patient monitoring and overall asthma management.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Provide an overview of the current state of asthma and key gaps in asthma care
  • Discuss potential impact of digital health management technology
  • Review the evolution of use of digital inhalers and smartphone apps in asthma
