Social Determinants of Health (SDOH), as defined by the World Health Organization, are the conditions in which people are born, grow, live, work, and age, including the health system itself. As our understanding of health expands, it becomes clear that health is not solely determined by access to healthcare, but also by a variety of social, economic, and environmental factors. SDOH, including social support, education, housing, food access, and income inequality, which play a critical role in determining health outcomes.
This presentation aims to explore how addressing SDOH can lead to improved health outcomes for communities. Key areas of focus will include investing in community-based programs, improving education, enhancing healthcare access, ensuring affordability and quality care, and expanding access to community resources. By addressing these fundamental factors, we can create a more equitable and effective approach to health and well-being.
